Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition.

Within the scope of developing sustainable productive systems, researches were carried out to increase the available nutritional nitrogen and reduce leaching losses.

In the course of this work some research activities have involved:

  • The development of decision support systems for a correct and rational application of fertilizers to crops.
  • Monitoring the nutritional state of olive trees in Lazio and Basilicata Regions in order to define variables for its interpretation as well as the preparation of fertilization plans. (I.S.N.P. Rome, Department of Agriculture – Basilicata Region).
  • Defining the variables necessary in order to analyse and interpret data for the preparation of fertilization plan for citrus, strawberry and peach crops.
  • The influence of environment factors and nitrogen availability on the concentration of nitrates in vegetable products.
